Industrial Marine Electrical provides electrical services and is the preferred supplier to many of the large industries in the Nelson region, including ENZA, The Alliance Group and Carter Holt Harvey and we assist them in their annual maintenance shutdowns and upgrade projects to keep the installation efficiently operating.
The electrical services we provide also cover both of the region’s Councils for their sewerage pump systems, water pumping stations and telemetry systems, which are vital components within their infrastructure, and need to be upgraded and maintained to allow them to provide the best service for the city and district today and in the future.

State-of-the-Art Packhouse
At Fairfield Orchards, we are proud to be associated with the installation and commissioning of this cutting-edge technology and innovation. the upgraded, fully automated packhouse, which was installed in the 5 months prior to the beginning of operations in March 2023. The line is made up of three main control cabinet, housing multiple variable speed drives, DOL starters and PLC automation control, that runs the scanners, graders, automated Aporo packers, there is manual packing lines as well, automated box erectors, automated conveyor system, a sealer and completing the line is two robotic pallet stackers. With the ability to produce an apple case every 3 seconds, this innovation must significantly improve both productivity and product consistency
Alliance Group Nelson Plant
Alliance Group Nelson – 2005 to 2025 Annual Maintenance Shutdown:
Between May and August annually, we complete four to seven week programmed maintenance shutdown for the site. We assisted the site’s Chief Engineer with the electrical program four weeks before the shutdown, arranged material to be delivered to site prior to the shutdown and a team a Industrial Marine Electricians worked six days a week to complete the Electrical work list before the start of the processing season.
We are the preferred Electrical service provider for the Alliance Group, Nelson Plant and our company supplies electrical services for them on a 24-hour call out service to cover the two shifts at the site.
Nelson City Council
Industrial Marine Electrical Ltd (IME) has completed the replacement of telemetry equipment across 46 Nelson City Council sites, delivering the programme within allocated budgets. IME provide maintenance and breakdown support for the various sites.
During this period, IME also constructed and installed twenty Sewer Pump Control Panels across the region, completed telemetry upgrades, and delivered three reservoir systems along with PRV control system installations — strengthening operational visibility and network control across Council assets.
At Maitai Dam, IME installed a bubble plume aeration system to improve reservoir water quality, alongside a 40kVA emergency diesel generator with Automatic Transfer Switch to maintain SCADA and valve control during power outages.
At the Neale Park Sewer Pump Station, IME delivered a major electrical and automation upgrade, including four high-capacity pumps with Variable Speed Drives and a three-generator standby power system for uninterrupted service.
These projects reinforce IME’s capability in delivering resilient, future-ready infrastructure that safeguards essential water and wastewater services for the Nelson community.
